UNITE offers a variety of programming to meet the needs of our members. Ranging from student teaching mentorship to job placement assistance, UNITE strives for excellent teachers in every classroom.

JUSTICE

JUSTICE seminars address community context, safety, housing, interpreting neighborhood change, relating the classroom to community experiences, and evaluation of prejudices and community statistics. This program works best in conjunction with student teaching immersion programs but can be tailored to fit any venue including workshops, single seminars, guest speaking engagements and pre-clinical trips...

Project 43

Project 43 is an intense introspective approach to addressing one of the most pressing issues facing urban education: the high drop out rate experienced by many underprivileged school districts across the nation. TEACHER-PLUS

UNITE has partnered with Illinois State University’s Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline and other community organizations on a revolutionary new program. The TEACHER-PLUS Project is a special initiative at Illinois State University that is open to all teacher education majors who have interests in pursuing employment in the Chicago Public Schools.
